With 5 children and 15 grandchildren, author Barbara Lea Goetz knows well the peaks and valleys of motherhood. In Adventures in Faith & Motherhood, Barbara invites mothers to a year in God’s Word - 52 weeks of Scripture, biblical wisdom, and family recipes. Each week provides mothers a path for Scripture reading, Scripture memorization and personal application. Through stories of faith, Barbara inspires mothers to follow Christ, “who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Eph. 3:20 NIV). Mothers will also delight in Barbara’s weekly recipes from more than 50 years of cooking for children and grandchildren. Also included are instructions for canning and much, much more! About Barbara Lea Goetz
Barbara Lea Goetz, a Bismarck, North Dakota resident, graduated with a B.S. Degree in Secretarial Science at Union College, Lincoln, Nebraska. She worked 26 years as a secretary and office manager for the mission organization, STEER, Inc., STEERing money to mission. Although retired for over 12 years, Barbara continues her secretarial skills by serving as part-time secretary for her husband, president of Revival Prayer Fellowship, a ministry that reaches out to churches in the Northern Plains of the U.S., and Ukraine and Moldova. Barbara enjoys being a blessing to her 5 children, spouses and 15 grandchildren. One way she does this is by preparing foods that her grandchildren enjoy whenever they come to visit. They all delight in her mashed potatoes, gelatin salads, and canned pears. Her husband’s favorite recipe is zucchini chocolate cake. This recipe can be found in her book. Barbara’s great joy is music. She began piano lessons at the age of five and continued studying music throughout her academic years. She passed this love of music on to her children. Barbara fulfilled the passion of her heart by writing “Adventures in Faith & Motherhood,” a different kind of devotional book for mothers.
