Synopsis

Cold Eyes- Synopsis
A suspense novel by W.R. "Mac" McGuffin, Cold Eyes is about a fictional town that was almost swept away by the 1937 flood that decimated the Ohio Valley from Pittsburgh to the Mississippi River. The town and its individuals are fiction. The flood is not. It happened and those that experienced it will not forget it. The story concerns a young lad of 14 and his observations of the flood and the people of his hometown living "up on the hill" out of the floodwaters. The murder of the mother of his girlfriend is a centerpiece of many other problems that faced the survivors of the 1937 flood. The story begins with a meeting of the wills between the young boy and the very dangerous snake, a water moccasin, and ends with the boy defending himself and young girlfriend from the man who murdered his friend's mother.
