Living Free from the Shackles that Bind
- Synopsis
For many who have made a commitment to the Lord, 2nd Corinthians 5:17 remains an elusive dream. It is meant to reflect a reality of our new, transformed life when we are born again.
If you are still suffering from the pains and hurts of your past, you must read this book. If you are still being controlled by events or circumstances that no longer exist except in your mind, you should find great help within these pages.
Jesus came to set the captives free; yet many are still incarcerated by old things that should have passed away for those who are following after God.
May you find the freedom your heart has longed for, and may 2nd Corinthians 5:17 no longer be an elusive dream but a reality in your life.
“Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold new things have come” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
About Gary Ward
Gary Ward has been pastor of Living Word Church in Manhattan, Kansas, since 1983.
He has a heart for helping people come to Christ and walk in the new life that He offers: A life free from the pains and heartaches of the past. A life of new promise and hope. A life that experiences the inheritance we have in the Lord. A life free of the shackles that hold us to our past. A life that releases us to live in the present in its fullness while looking to the future with great hope.
Before entering the ministry, Gary taught high school biology for 18 years and worked as a seasonal ranger for the National Park Service during the summers. During those years he wrote the booklet “Bears of the Great Smoky Mountains” as well as numerous articles for magazines.

Many signs and wonders have accompanied the preaching of the whole counsel of God and have attested to the power and practicality of God’s word.
