The Second Rose- Synopsis
Many who read the story of small town lives and politics in the novel Florida Rose requested that author Mac McGuffin tell them more about the town and its residents, and he has done so.
In The Second Rose, we learn that the town’s newspaper publisher Pious Macfie has retired, and his son Michael has stepped in to take his father’s place. Michael is quietly adjusting to both his new position at the paper and changes in his personal life, when a sinkhole suddenly opens up downtown and swallows City Hall.
The resulting turmoil dramatically changes both Michael’s life and the political scene of the entire county, in ways none of the town’s residents could ever have imagined.
