Why I Wrote the Book
A laid-off laborer rushes to get the morning paper from his front steps.
He throws the paper down on the kitchen table and immediately turns
to the help-wanted ads. As he looks the ads over, he notices that
almost all of them are the same ones he has seen for the past few
weeks and had already applied to, but received no response.
He pounds his hands on the table angrily and thinks to himself:
“Why won’t they hire me?”
An unemployed single mother lies in bed at night with tears running down her face. A pile of bills lies on the table beside her, most of them overdue. If she doesn’t get a job soon, she will no longer be able to pay her rent.
She closes her eyes and prays:
Dear God, “Why won’t they hire me?"
A recent college graduate is having no luck finding a job. She has over $40,000 in school loans to pay back. A moment ago, she called the company she interviewed with last week and was told they hired someone else for the position she desperately wanted and needed.
She hangs up the phone cries out:
“Why won’t they hire me?”
